Pasta with tomato sauce is easy. My mother’s recipe is even easier: with ketchup. But that annoyed me even before I was a mother. So much sugar that could be avoided. I also liked trying those ready-made tomato sauces. They all tasted deliciously spicy. But I wanted to make something of my own. So I went through the departments and read about what spices they put in them. And that’s how MY tomato sauce came about.

Bring water to the boil in a saucepan, add a little salt and then crop circles at home the pasta. Set the timer for 15 minutes and let the pasta simmer.

Meanwhile, peel your onion and cut it into small cubes. Then add these dy leads to the olive oil in a small pan. When the onions are translucent, add the tomatoes. Depending on your preference, you can then add a little water to make the sauce thinner.

Season with garlic, which you press into the sauce (or add finely chopped), salt, pepper, oregano, basil and tomato paste. Be very sparing with the thyme, otherwise your tomato sauce will have a medicinal touch. It has happened to me quite often.
